Conversations occur spontaneously in various contexts with little or no thought about who should be involved or how they should be convened or managed. Spontaneous conversations are valuable, but it makes better sense to take a more formal, structured approach to some issues. Designing such meetings is the role of the conversation architect.
A conversation architect designs powerful, strategic conversations. They determine the questions to trigger the conversations and design the processes to convene and host them.
Managers and the natural leaders in an organization are in the best position to take on the role of a conversational architect to hold effective strategic conversations though mostly they lack the knowledge and skills to do this.
Knowledge Managers have a tremendous opportunity to impact the organization strategically. They are the natural conversational architects in any organization.
