Knowledge Cafés should always start with a purpose in mind and be designed to meet that aim. The conversation is always triggered by a powerful question
Often though, a series of Cafés may be held simply to bring people together to have interesting conversations on a wide variety of topics. The open Knowledge Cafés that I regularly run in London and in Farnborough are good examples.
If you thinking of running such Cafés yourself then here are some topics/questions from some of my past events:
- What can we do to increase the passion, learning, and interaction in Communities of Practice?
- What should I do with the rest of my life?
- Does attitude matter? What defines attitude, how do we measure it, and how do we nurture it? – in the business context?
- How can we transform our corporate culture to empower people to be entrepreneurial and adventurous?
- How can we improve our business conversations?
- Cloud Computing: What are the implications for the future?
- Mobile Working – Friend or Foe?
- What life experience has influenced you the most?
- What does Conversational Leadership mean to you?
- What steps do libraries and information services need to take to survive in the Google age?
- Are skills and behaviors more important than knowledge for modern day graduates?
- How can we more actively share knowledge within the workplace?
- How Does The Pace Of Innovation Affect The Quality Of Creativity?
- What could we do individually to encourage greater collaboration and sharing in our organizations?
- Are charities doing more harm than good by using images and stories of vulnerable children?
- What is the role of conversation in business and science?
- Connectivity. Can being connected make us more successful and can social tools help?
- What triggers your passion?
- Do you consciously align your behavioural environment with the purpose of your conversations?
Status: Work in progress.
