My Writing Style

Although most of this blook is written conventionally in the passive tense, I frequently use the first person singular and the first person plural.

In other words, you will find me using the words “I” and “We” a great deal.

This style is deliberate as the blook consists of my personal views and ideas and by writing more conversationally in the first person, I keep it authentic.

I have tried to write in plain language and to avoid unnecessary complicated words and phrases and to avoid hype and preachiness.

I have also sought to keep sentences short and straightforward and to break the posts into paragraphs of only 2 or 3 lines to aid browsing and speed reading.

Each post is designed to be standalone, and most can be read in under 5 to 10 minutes.

I would like this blook to be comfortable reading for people at all levels in keeping with my views on the Language of Conversational Leadership.

  2. I do like your style, and ass you say, it is easy and conversational – very appropriate given the topic, and in the ACTIVE voice. It is not in a passive tense…. the passive is glorious stuff of heavy going academic writing. The topic was chosen; the experiment was assembled; the talk was given…. :) Sorry to be picky, comes from living with an English teacher!!!
